1886 German Maple full size Violin Joseph Guarnerius copy

I am reluctantly selling my antique full size violin crafted in 1886 (Germany) in maple, in the style of Joseph Guarnerius of Cremona.  It has been much loved and taken me to Grade 8 and beyond, playing in orchestras but it has not been much used in the last decade and needs a new owner.

This violin has a beautiful mellow sound and is suitable for intermediate to advanced users.  It was last serviced and valued in 2007 at £1500.

The body length is 35.5cm, the rib height  29 mm.  The back is of a two-piece lightly figured maple, the ribs are of a similar maple, the scroll a finer figured maple and the table is a two-piece medium to wide grained spruce.  It is varnished in brown and is in excellent condition with a light scratch on the back and an initial scratched on the base of the neck.

It comes with two bows, resin, mute, substantial (lockable) travel case and I can throw in a good quality chin rest.

It can be collected from London or South East Kent.  Payment can be in cash on collection.
